FULL STORY:  We made it another month!  Here are a few things to look forward to in October . . .

1.  In sports:  The MLB playoffs start tonight, with Game 1 of the World Series set for October 25th . . . the NHL season gets started this weekend with the first two games in the Czech Republic . . . and the new NBA season starts the 22nd.

2.  In movies:  The new “Joker” sequel lands this Friday . . . “Saturday Night”, about the early days of “SNL” hits theaters the 11th . . . the horror sequel “Smile 2” arrives the 18th . . . and Tom Hardy returns as Venom in DC Comics’ “Venom: The Last Dance” on October 25th.

3.  A ton of fall TV shows are back this month:  “Love Is Blind” returns tomorrow . . . “Law & Order: SVU” starts this Thursday . . . “Abbott Elementary” is back October 9th . . . season two of “Tracker” hits CBS the 13th . . .

. . . “NCIS” returns the 14th . . . season four of “American Horror Stories” starts the 15th . . . “Shark Tank” and “Blue Bloods” are both back on the 18th . . . and “What We Do in the Shadows” returns October 21st.

4.  Other special events:  The Vice Presidential Debate is tonight . . . the “American Music Awards” are this Sunday . . . and the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony” airs live on Disney+ October 19th.

This year’s inductees include Cher . . . Mary J. Blige . . . Dave Matthews Band . . . Foreigner . . . Peter Frampton . . . Ozzy Osbourne . . . Kool & the Gang . . . and A Tribe Called Quest.

5.  And finally, the holidays:  The big ones are Rosh Hashanah, which starts tomorrow night . . .  Yom Kippur, which starts the 11th . . . Columbus Day on the 14th . . . and Halloween on the 31st.

Lesser holidays this month include International Beer and Pizza Day on the 9th . . . National No Bra Day on the 13th . . . and National Cat Day on October 29th.
