Five years ago, in the middle of the Covid lockdowns and quarantines, most Americans didn’t know WHEN they’d return to the office.

Then, as many companies made everything online and remote, people didn’t know IF they’d return to the office.  So where do we stand now?

In a recent poll, 70% of employed Americans said they work full time, 17% work part time, and 13% are self-employed.  Men are more likely to work full time than women, 76% to 64%.

And among working people, 57% of Americans work full-time in an office, whereas 24% work almost exclusively from home.  And 18% have some kind of hybrid arrangement, with some days in the office and some at home.

There’s still some shifting, with many workers finally being asked to return to the office THIS YEAR.  Other companies have gone back and forth, and are trying to find the right balance for productivity and flexibility to attract and retain the best workers.
