CARSON CITY, NV – Today, Governor Joe Lombardo announced his appointment of Randy Brown to the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN). Brown will begin his service on October 1, 2023.

“I’m pleased to announce my appointment of Randy Brown to the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada,” said Governor Joe Lombardo. “Randy is a trusted and respected industry leader, and he brings decades of regulatory experience to this position. I’m grateful for Randy’s willingness to serve his fellow Nevadans on this critical commission, and I look forward to his thoughtful contributions in his new role.”

“I’m honored to serve on the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada, and I thank Governor Lombardo for his confidence in me,” said Randy Brown, Commissioner on the PUCN. “I’m eager to get to work executing the mission of the PUCN to ensure safe operation and fair regulation of public utilities in our state.”

A licensed certified public accountant, Brown has worked in public utility accounting, tax, and regulatory affairs for over 26 years. Brown previously led regulatory operations for AT&T in Nevada and has served as a Commissioner on the Nevada Tax Commission since 2017.

The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) is a regulatory agency that ensures investor-owned utilities comply with laws enacted by the Nevada Legislature. The PUCN’s basic regulatory duties, as defined by the Legislature (NRS 704.001), include: providing for fair and impartial regulation of public utilities; providing for the safe, economic, efficient, prudent and reliable operation and service of public utilities; and balancing the interests of customers and shareholders of public utilities.
