LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, Governor Joe Lombardo announced that the flags would be immediately lowered to half-staff in honor of the two Nevada State Troopers, who were killed in the line of duty early this morning on November 30, 2023.
Governor Lombardo issued the following statement: “I’m profoundly saddened by the deaths of two of our brave Nevada State Troopers, who were killed early this morning in Las Vegas. This is a devastating loss for Nevada law enforcement, the city of Las Vegas, and our entire state. As we mourn these troopers, we will never forget their bravery, courage, and sacrifice.”
Pursuant to Nevada policy, Governor Lombardo is directing the United States flag and the Nevada state flag be lowered to half-staff immediately on November 30, 2023, until sunset on the day of interment to honor the fallen Nevada State Troopers.
Accordingly, since no flag should fly higher than the U.S. flag, all other flags, including state, municipal, corporate, or otherwise, should also be lowered during this same duration of time.
