Here is the weekly press release for the Thacker Pass project, for the week ending in February 14, 2025.

Thacker Pass updates:
Sawtooth Mining, our mining partner/contractor who is performing most of the construction-related earthwork is continuing excavation of the process plant pad, which is 90% complete.
Highmark Construction, our general fill earthworks contractor, is nearly 90% complete with general fill placement.

Malta Ready Mix, our concrete foundation contractor, is installing their concrete batch plant on site. As of this week they have placed approximately 450 cubic yards (CY) for their temporary facilities. The first large concrete pour for the process plant area is scheduled for May 2025.

Ames Construction select fill processing plant, pictured above, is in initial operations. Testing will follow to ensure quality meets engineering requirements.
The fill plant involves a collective of heavy machinery that transforms raw rock into optimal foundation material that meets project requirements to support a stable foundation for the plant facilities.
The final step will be sending it through a cone crusher that works in harmony with a secondary screen. The result will be precisely sized structural fill that will provide the stable foundation needed for Thacker Pass’s future processing facilities.
Thacker Pass continues to be in regular communication with state and federal agencies regarding construction progress, and safety and environmental compliance.

Workforce Hub updates:
Construction milestones are stacking up at our Workforce Hub where over 380 pre-cast foundations are pictured dotting the landscape. As Joy Engineering shapes the terrain with precision grading and structural fill, concrete work approaches 30% completion. These foundations are the building blocks of our future housing facility where the on-site team building Thacker Pass will rest and recharge.
City of Winnemucca building inspections are ongoing. Sanbell Engineering, our civil engineering contractor, is inspecting concrete placement for foundations of the modules, as well as off-site water and sewer installations. Target Hospitality, the contractor selected for installation and operation of the Workforce Hub, is conducting pre-installation inspections on modules and assisting with final engineering to prepare for setting the modules in place.
Offsite utility construction activities are ongoing at Rim Rock Road. There will be partial road closures in this area for a few weeks as Hunewill completes road work. Progress on the foundation includes the following: Joy Engineering, our contractor for sewer, drainage and roadways is currently grading and generating structural fill.
